The northern extents of Brooklyn’s Prospect Heights is getting a huge makeover thanks to the development of Pacific Park (a.k.a Atlantic Yards), the 16-building project is expected to bring 6,430 new housing units to the neighborhood. Situated at the nexus of four prosperous neighborhoods, the 22-acre site will create a unique Brooklyn community in the heart of the borough. There are currently 7 buildings under construction which include two condos: 550 Vanderbilt Avenue and 615 Dean Street, two market-rate rentals: 461 Dean Street and
664 Pacific Street , and two affordable housing rentals 38 Sixth Avenue and this tower at 535 Carlton Avenue.
535 Carlton Avenue will be the second residential building to open at Pacific Park. This
COOKFOX -designed rental building will hold 298 affordable units with rents ranging from $548/month for a studio to $3,716/month for a three-bedroom apartment. Greenland Forest City Partners are the developers for this building which will feature a rooftop terrace and farming garden, underground parking garage, and ground-level retail stores.
Residents of 535 Carlton Avenue will be chosen by lottery. Applications are currently being accepted and the lottery will continue until August 9. For more information on the lottery details and qualifications check out this 6sqft post. Occupancy is expected to begin later this year.
