After months of delays, 500 Metropolitan Avenue, the 200,000 square foot building rises from an irregularly-shaped parcel near the Metropolitan Avenue-Lorimer Street station of the G and L subway trains. The tower overlooks the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway and rises 14-stories and 172-feet in height, making it among the tallest buildings in East Williamsburg.
The building will be topped by 58 residential units spanning floors 8-14. The structure’s ziggurat-like design by Kutnicki Bernstein Architects (KBA) will provide numerous outdoor opportunities for residents to enjoy far-reaching views. A 189-room hotel will operate on floors one through seven, encompassing nearly 93,500 square feet of floor space. Amenities will include an underground parking garage, a restaurant and bar, basketball and tennis courts on the second-floor terrace, a spa, two swimming pools, and spaces for retail businesses on the ground floor.
