New construction photos of a long-stalled Park Slope residential development show the building is now nearly complete. The building, located at 383 12th Street between Sixth and Seventh avenues, replaces a vacant two-family residence that was demolished in 2003. Permits were subsequently filed for the 40-foot-tall new development.
Throughout the past decade, the site has faced work violations and fines, but there has finally been progress on the lackluster project. The building is four stories, and will contain eight units, but we don't know much beyond that. Permits only reveal that each floor will have two units, and there will be a recreation room, and cellar storage. The new photos show balconies on the top two floors being constructed, and it has a cornice and lintels that appear to be influenced by its neighboring pre-war structure. Domick Salvati & Son Architects are listed as the architect of record and Joseph Catalano is listed as the individual owner. The residences will most likely be rentals.
