The Waterline Square complex was developed by GID Development Group, and Three Waterline Square was designed by Rafael Vinoly Architects, whose portfolio includes The Greenwich by Rafael Vinoly in the Financial District, 432 Park Avenue on Billionaires' Row, and 277 Fifth Avenue in NoMad. The building's angled shape and glassy facade give it the appearance of a crystal, and allows for abundant natural light from floor-to-ceiling windows in all units. Interiors feature floor-to-ceiling windows, custom kitchens by Pedini with integrated appliances by Gaggenau and high-honed Crema Delicato marble countertops and backsplash, baths with Dornbracht fixtures, and in-unit GE washers and dryers.

The lottery was announced around the time Italian restaurant Casa Louie opened a new outpost in the space formerly occupied by Empellón Taqueria in Three Waterline Square, following a successful debut just north of Hudson Yards. The team is building an outdoor deck and bocce court, and the restaurant's windows look out on verdant views of Waterline Square Park, a 2.6-acre public park with lawn seating, water features, and a children's playground. While open to the public and offering community events, it serves as an unofficial backyard for Waterline Square residents. The complex is in a central location near Riverside Park South, Lincoln Center, many popular local restaurants, and both Morton Williams and Brooklyn Fare supermarkets.
The Waterline Square complex came on the heels of a wave of Far West Side luxury rentals with imaginative design and thoughtfully curated amenities like The Max, Mercedes House, and Via 57 West. Much of the Upper West Side's recent new residential development has been dedicated to condos, but Anagram Columbus Circle, located several blocks east of Waterline Square, achieved a full lease-out in less than a year.
