While there were more than 4.6 million submitted applicants last year, 7,857 apartments awarded through lottery programs. Today, a fresh new lottery has come online to better tilt those odds in your favor.
Under construction at 46-02 70th Street, along Queens Boulevard in Woodside, Queens, the mixed-income development is offering 23 newly-built apartments earmarked for middle-income households earning between $64,800 for an individual and up to $146,510 for a family of five. The affordable apartments will be dispersed throughout a ground-up, 74-unit development tentatively named J&J Tower. Aside from the apartments, there will be ground-floor retail, a 38-car parking garage, a bike room, and laundry room. The prolific Queens-based firm of Angelo NG + Anthony NG Architects Studio shaped the design and the developer is listed as Xiaoke Tang’s JJ Queens Development LLC. Some south and west facing apartments will have far-reaching views over Queens towards Manhattan. While the nine-floor building is something of a hike to the 69th Street 7-train station, it is close to the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway and not very far from Woodside's LIRR station.
