The US Open has come to a close, wrapping up two weeks of world-class tennis that had fans across the world and New York buzzing. On Saturday, top seed Aryna Sabalenka powered past Amanda Anisimova 6-3, 7-6(3), and on Sunday Carlos Alcaraz outlasted Jannik Sinner in their third consecutive Grand Slam final, 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4, reclaiming his spot as the world’s number one men’s player.
But as the roar of Arthur Ashe Stadium fades, the fight for court time in the city continues. Playing tennis here is not as simple as showing up with a racket. Public courts require a permit, which runs from April through late November, and finding an available space can mean waiting in line or traveling far from home. And as 6sqft touches on, while some Manhattan courts are well maintained, even boasting rare red clay, players in the outer boroughs often contend with cracked surfaces, broken lights, and low nets. For many New Yorkers, tennis is a test of patience before it’s a test of skill.

For a lucky few, though, the solution is right at home. Some residential buildings across the city have their own courts, allowing residents to step off the elevator and straight onto the baseline. Below, we look at properties that make tennis as easy as pressing the lobby button.
