Overview of 320 East 57th Street

320 East 57th Street is a 16 story, 95 unit Art Deco co-op built in 1927 in Midtown East, near Sutton Place. Its red brick and terracotta façade leads to an entrance and lobby with original ironwork by French designer Edgar Brandt.

Many apartments retain beamed ceilings, herringbone floors, formal entry foyers and generously proportioned rooms. Northern exposures with open city views and split bedroom layouts recur. The bi-level penthouse places its principal living and dining rooms below an upper suite and parlor, with both floors connecting to a wraparound terrace with three exposures.

The building has a 24 hour doorman and live-in superintendent, along with a windowed gym, resident storage, a bike room, central laundry and a landscaped rooftop terrace. In-unit washer dryer installations are permitted. Pets and pied-à-terre ownership are allowed, while subletting requires board approval.

The building is directly across East 57th Street from a mid-block Queensboro Bridge entrance, and the block carries considerable traffic. The East River esplanade and Sutton Place Park lie to the east, Whole Foods is one block away, and the 4, 5, 6, N, R and W trains stop at Lexington Avenue/59th Street.

Sales History

Price/Room (Est)

Why are we displaying the estimated price per room?

For some co-ops, instead of price per square foot, we use an estimate of the number of rooms for each sold apartment to chart price changes over time. This is because many co-op listings do not include square footage information, and this makes it challenging to calculate accurate square-foot averages.

By displaying the price per estimated room count, we are able to provide a more reliable and consistent metric for comparing sales in the building. While we hope that this gives you a clearer sense of price trends in the building, all data should be independently verified. All data provided are only estimates and should not be used to make any purchase or sale decision.
