945 Fifth Avenue Location Map

Overview of 945 Fifth Avenue

945 Fifth Avenue is a 19 story, 107 apartment post-war rental designed by Emery Roth & Sons and developed by the Rudin family in 1949. It occupies the former site of Temple Beth-El, an 1891 synagogue that was demolished in 1947.

The beige brick façade rises from a two story limestone base, with a central stack of recessed terraces and setbacks along the upper floors. At the roofline, the mechanical equipment and water tower are contained in a tiered octagonal enclosure punctuated by round openings.

Park facing homes range from one bedroom layouts to Classic 6 residences, and several open to private balconies or terraces. Apartments commonly have hardwood floors and windowed kitchens and baths, while washer dryer hookups recur in the Classic 6 layouts.

The building has a full time doorman, central laundry room, bike room, live-in resident manager and full service garage. Central Park is directly across Fifth Avenue, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art is six blocks north.
