Willem Dafoe and Jimmy Fallon stay home and expand; Rosie O’Donnell’s Village flip still flopping; NYC’s priciest co-op enter contract.

Willem Dafoe is the newest owner of a West Village penthouse at 68 Jane Street, a 14-unit co-op building that was converted from factory space in the 1970s.The actor purchased the two-bedroom apartment with 12.5-foot ceilings, arched windows and a wood-burning fireplace for $3.9 million. According to records, The Platoon star and his wife were already in residence in another unit in the building (TRD).

Late-night upstart Jimmy Fallon is expanding his real estate empire; the newest Tonight Show host recently purchased a top-floor unit at 34 Gramercy Park East, where he already owns three units combined into a duplex. The building, built in 1883, is among the city’s oldest co-ops. Fallon and his wife, producer Nancy Juvonen, plan to add a third floor now that they’ve closed on the four-bedroom co-op for $1.35 million. The onetime SNL staple first bought in the building in 2002, when he picked up a one-bedroom unit for $850k. Fallon’s newest acquisition will need a thorough renovation; though it features three exposures and a great view of Gramercy Park, the top-floor unit is a fixer-upper that belonged to the same owner for decades (NYO).

Rosie O’Donnell used the broker-switch-and-price-chop move in an attempt to sell her Greenwich Village penthouse at 130 West 12th Street. The controversial comedienne bought the condo for $8.09 million in 2012, then listed it for $10.95 million shortly thereafter. The current sale price is $9.5 million (NYPost).

Wal Mart heiress Alice Walton is rumored to be the buyer of the Upper East Side co-op, currently in contract, that is likely to become the city’s most expensive co-op sale ever at $70 million. The penthouse at 960 Fifth Avenue, formerly owned by late billionaire Edgar Bronfman, Sr., has 16 rooms, a wraparound terrace and Central Park Views (along with a $19,092 monthly maintenance fee and a need for serious renovation). That record is currently held by David Geffen’s $58 million purchase of a penthouse at 785 Fifth Avenue (NYPost).
