The Riverdale is a distinguished Beaux Arts cooperative built in 1907 and designed by renowned architect George Frederick Pelham. Located at 67 Riverside Drive at 79th Street, this nine story gray brick building sits on a prominent corner overlooking Riverside Park and the Hudson River. The building features an ornate limestone base with decorative garlands, swags, and attractive wrought-iron balconies, along with a handsome lobby with terrazzo floors.
The cooperative contains either 26 or 37 apartments according to different sources, ranging from one-bedroom units to expansive five-bedroom homes. Many apartments feature original prewar details including herringbone floors, ornate moldings, pocket doors, stained glass windows, and decorative fireplaces. Several units offer Juliet balconies and sweeping views of Riverside Park and the Hudson River. Apartment sizes vary significantly, with some units exceeding 3,000 SF and featuring formal dining rooms with tiger sawn oak paneling, libraries, and multiple exposures.
Recent building improvements include a landscaped roof deck with panoramic Hudson River views, updated elevator and lobby restoration completed by a preservationist architect. The building maintains its historic character while accommodating modern renovations, with many apartments featuring high end kitchens with Wolf ranges, Sub-Zero refrigerators, and marble bathrooms with radiant heated floors.
Building amenities include a live-in superintendent who accepts packages, private storage cages for each apartment, bike storage, and laundry facilities. The cooperative is pet friendly and financially sound with low underlying mortgage and excellent maintenance. However, the building lacks a doorman, garage, and health club.
The location provides direct access to Riverside Park and proximity to the 79th Street Boat Basin, while being just two blocks from Broadway's shopping and dining options. Transportation is convenient with the 1, 2, and 3 subway lines nearby, plus cross-town bus service, making it easily accessible to Lincoln Center, the Museum of Natural History, and other Upper West Side attractions.

For some co-ops, instead of price per square foot, we use an estimate of the number of rooms for each sold apartment to chart price changes over time. This is because many co-op listings do not include square footage information, and this makes it challenging to calculate accurate square-foot averages.
By displaying the price per estimated room count, we are able to provide a more reliable and consistent metric for comparing sales in the building. While we hope that this gives you a clearer sense of price trends in the building, all data should be independently verified. All data provided are only estimates and should not be used to make any purchase or sale decision.
