114 Mercer Street, also known as 543 Broadway, is a 10-story, 18-unit AIR cooperative built in 1903 and designed by architect John W. Stevens. Located on a cobblestone block between Prince and Spring Streets in the heart of the SoHo Cast Iron Historic District, the building features a distinctive white marble façade with a large arched window enclosure on the third floor and rusticated bottom two stories. Though missing its original cornice, the prewar structure maintains its architectural character with bandcourses above the fourth and eighth floors.
The building offers full floor loft apartments, each accessed by private keyed elevator. Units typically feature soaring 11 to 12 foot barrel vaulted ceilings, exposed brick walls and piping, and wide plank oak floors. High end kitchens are common throughout, with several units showcasing custom Italian millwork by Poggenpohl or Molteni&C | Dada, along with luxury appliances including Sub-Zero refrigerators and Miele ranges. Most apartments include in-unit washer/dryers, spa-like Carrara marble bathrooms, and central air conditioning. The ninth floor unit is particularly notable for its 52 foot long living room, while the penthouse boasts 22 oversized windows with panoramic views to the south, east, and north.
As an AIR cooperative with AIR waiver allowed, the building offers flexible policies including subletting, pied-à-terre use, guarantors, co-purchasing, foreign purchasers, parents buying for children, and live/work arrangements, all subject to board approval. The pet friendly building provides basement storage for residents and features video intercom security. Its prime SoHo location offers immediate access to world class shopping, dining, galleries, and multiple subway lines.

For some co-ops, instead of price per square foot, we use an estimate of the number of rooms for each sold apartment to chart price changes over time. This is because many co-op listings do not include square footage information, and this makes it challenging to calculate accurate square-foot averages.
By displaying the price per estimated room count, we are able to provide a more reliable and consistent metric for comparing sales in the building. While we hope that this gives you a clearer sense of price trends in the building, all data should be independently verified. All data provided are only estimates and should not be used to make any purchase or sale decision.
