One of the more elegant apartment houses on Riverside Drive, this 16-story building was erected in 1926 and converted to a cooperative in 1968. It has 106 large apartments. The Italian Renaissance-style building has a limestone base and quoins, some terracotta detailing and an attractive, small cornice. In addition to its excellent views of the Hudson River and being directly across the street from Riverside Park, the doorman building is just a short walk to Zabar's, the famous food store, and a large Barnes & Noble bookstore, both on Broadway, where there is a local subway station at 79th Street. Cross-town bus service is also convenient.
