Times Square is about to get a lot more touristy.

Earlier this month, CityRealty reported that construction has resumed on New York City's first Margaritaville located in Times Square (because where else?) and yesterday, Margaritaville Holdings officially confirmed the hotel chain's arrival in a press release and revealed a batch of new renderings.

Addressed at 560 Seventh Avenue, the 234-room, 29-story glassy tower will rise just two blocks down from the area's main tourist attractions like Madame Toussaud's and Ripley's Believe it or not, along with a ton of chain restaurants, including Hard Rock Cafe, Bubba Gump Shrimp, Red Lobster, Arby's – you name it. Adding to that, the "no worries" vibe hotel is bringing its own Margaritaville restaurant, a LandShark Bar & Grill, 5 o’Clock Somewhere Bar, Floridays Airstream Café, and an all-new concept, Chill Bar.

Back in 2015, The Real Deal reported that the site, bought by Sharif El-Gamal of Soho Properties, was going to be a Dream Hotel. Those plans were scrapped when the property went into default.

So far, it's been announced that amenities for Margaritaville will include a fitness center and a rooftop pool, a spa, and lounge. The $300 million project is expected to open in late 2020.

On the opposite end of 40th Street is a brand new AC Hotel Times Square, which just debuted this past week. AC Hotel, a subsidiary of Marriott since 2011, will provide an entirely different feel with its combination of European architecture and New York Fashion District aesthetic. The 290-room hotel, addressed at 260 West 40th Street, boasts a 23-ft-high entrance lobby, inspirational artwork (from sculptures to abstract painting) by local and well-known artists, and rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows, private balconies, and unparalleled city views.

The beloved NYC restaurant and bar Boqueria, which serves amazing Spanish tapas and charcuterie, has also opened adjacent to the hotel's lobby. Castell, a year-round rooftop lounge will open to guests and locals in May 2018.

AC Hotel Times Square encourages guests to "slow down in this hectic city" with elements that include lavender sachets at turndown to promote better sleep. As for amenities, the hotel will offer a 24-hour fitness center, library, meeting room, an AC Market featuring locally-sourced items, and 3,365 square feet of event space.

This marks NYC's first AC Hotel to open. A second location is expected to debut at 151 Maiden Lane in the Financial District later this year.
