Adellco’s forthcoming condominium named d’Orsay has marked another milestone in its road towards completion. A recent press release announced that its 11-story frame has topped off. Capped by Chelsea’s contextual zoning rules, the building rises a modest 152 feet to the top of its mechanical bulkhead, thus maintaining the human scale of its area. Now with vertical construction complete, its lower levels are receiving its stylish Roman-brick facade. The condominium is being designed by Hill West, who have served as the executive architects on countless New York developments but less frequently get to wield their design talent independently.

d’Orsay’s façade is conceived as a tribute to the industrial lofts of the Meatpacking District and is composed of warm-colored masonry and generous bays of factory-style windows. Interiors designed by Studio Jacques Garcia also convey a dynamic marriage between old and new. The practice is well-known for their fanciful work at the La Mamounia in Marrakesh and the Hotel Costes in Paris. Here, the designers craft richly textured spaces with a bit of Art Deco flare. Exposed metal beams, bronze walls and lighting are used to accentuate structural details.

The building’s twenty-one residences will be composed of one- to four-bedroom layouts that will be carefully curated to create a sense of symmetry, proportion, and grace. while ensuring homes are drenched in natural light. Renderings illustrate timeless spaces drenched in light and sheathed in rich stones and sumptuous finishes.
