Design Group IN has drawn up an expansion of a four-story mixed-use building at 2004 Third Avenue at the corner of East 110th Street. The five retail stores planned for the ground floor will port a light grey stone facade, while the 24 rental apartments above will be clad in a light neutral stone. The existing brownstone building is currently home to Young Fish Market.
permits call for an enlargement at the rear of the building and reconfiguring the apartments within to hold 8 units per floor, up from the the existing 3 or 4 units. The building is located in the heart of East Harlem near Thomas Jefferson Park, across the street a Key Foods supermarket and a New York Public Library branch. The Lexington Avenue line's 110th Street subway station serving the 6 train is also one block away.
