A well-situated parking lot at 63 Columbia Street in Cobble Hill's Columbia Waterfront District is now giving way to a six-floor residential building with 10 dwelling units. The site is located across from the tennis courts of Van Voorhees Park and Brooklyn Bridge Park is also one block away. The developer is Louis Greco’s Second Development Services whose other Brooklyn projects include the condos On Prospect Park and BE @Schermerhorn.
Building permits were filed way back in 2014 by Philadelphia-based Loomis McAfee Architects and detail a 19,000 gross square foot building holding a mix of duplex and simplex apartments. Excavation work began recently and the rendering shown above is now posted on the site’s construction fence. Depicted is a Mondrian-like design of large windows spread across a background of white walls and dark-colored accents. Apartments in the building will average more than 1,400 square feet apiece, signaling that condos are likely.
