With its jumble of new and post-war buildings, none relating to each other, Flushing is probably the most foreign streetscape in New York City. As a hub for the city's growing Asian community, the neighborhood has welcomed dozens of mid- and low-rise developments, usurping formerly underutilized and industrial lots. Near its commercial heart, the Queens-based architects of Angelo Ng & Anthony Ng have drawn up a contemporary mixed-used building for the vacant site at the corner of Prince and 37th streets. While building permits have yet to be filed, city records show the LLC, Princ City Group acquire the property in 2017 for $2.7 million.
A pair of renderings published on the architect's website show glass covering most of the first three floors, hinting at commercial space. Apartments are likely for the three floors above as they have balconies and terraces. Stay tuned...
