The past week's top sale by far was a townhouse unit at 17 Jane Street that closed for $22,750,000 roughly a year after it was purchased for $33,052,250 in January 2022. The seller was identified as a foreign real estate investment company represented by private equity investor Alejandro Weinstein (h/t The Wall Street Journal), and took a $10.3 million loss on the unit. The buyer conducted the transaction through an LLC, and the building has attracted the likes of Jennifer Lawrence and its developer, Edward Minskoff.
It was trailed by #PHW at XOCO 325, which sold for $17,220,000. Located in a building that presents a unique take on cast-iron Soho architecture, the penthouse features four bedrooms, four and a half baths, 4,406 interior square feet, and a 718-square-foot private terrace. The seller was identified only through an LLC, and the buyer conducted the transaction through a trust. When the apartment entered contract with an $18,500,000 ask in November 2022, Olshan Realty's market report noted that the price was raised from $17,500,000 when it started marketing off floor plans. However, it ultimately came in below both the ask and the original price.
