For the second time this spring, the top sale of the week takes place at Central Park Tower, the tallest residential building in both Billionaires' Row and the Western Hemisphere: Residence #92W, a sizeable half-floor unit with sweeping city views, sold for $15,009,275. While the top sale by a comfortable margin, the closing price came in 21.2% below the last ask of $19,054,000. The sale was recorded roughly two weeks after a full-floor home a few stories up sold for $19 million below ask.
The top downtown sale and second-highest overall was Penthouse A at 87 Leonard Street, a three-bedroom loft with a massive private terrace that closed for $10,500,000, or $1.1 million below the $11,600,000 asking price when it entered contract earlier this year. The seller was identified only through an LLC, but public records list the buyer as Adam Greenblatt, CEO of sports betting site BetMGM.
The top downtown sale and second-highest overall was Penthouse A at 87 Leonard Street, a three-bedroom loft with a massive private terrace that closed for $10,500,000, or $1.1 million below the $11,600,000 asking price when it entered contract earlier this year. Public records identified the buyer of this sponsor unit as Nikki Eslami, venture capitalist and founder of luxury hair extension brand Bellami.
