Before the COVID-19 epidemic swept New York, new developments touted mind-boggling arrays of amenities and close proximity to the city's hot spots as major selling points. However, as part of the effort to flatten the curve, many public places have closed and shared amenity spaces have followed suit to keep residents safe.

And yet, despite being suddenly confined to their apartments, residents of some of the city's newest condos still have an enviable amenity: a front-row seat to the world's most iconic skyline. The views from the oversized windows offer jaw-dropping backdrops for video calls and inspire "webcam envy" in clients, colleagues, and friends. From the Empire State Building's light show to the landmarks being lit up in blue on Thursdays, these buildings were designed to make the most of it all.

From one end of New York to another, designers have gone to great lengths and heights to allow for postcard-perfect views skyline views. But ironically enough, sometimes the best way to enjoy the best of Manhattan is to get out of the borough. For that reason, we include buildings in Brooklyn, Long Island City, and even New Jersey.
