After years of construction and anticipation, move-ins and closings have finally begun at One Hundred East Fifty Third Street. The Foster + Partners-designed addition to the Midtown East skyline is rumored to have attracted power couples Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber and George and Amal Clooney, but all types have been drawn to its dazzling design both inside and out, central location, and hotel-quality amenities.
Closings at One Hundred East Fifty-Third have come in at an average of $2,193 per square foot, or roughly in line with the Midtown East average of $2,231 per square foot (per CityRealty data). Current availabilities range from a one-bedroom loft residence listed for $2.45 million to a four-bedroom duplex tower penthouse for $65 million.

The 94 apartments at One Hundred East Fifty-Third are a combination of loft residences in the base of the building and tower residences with sweeping city and Central Park views. The loft apartments have ribbed concrete ceilings and diamond-polished high-grade concrete floors, while their tower counterparts feature white oak flooring and soaring ceilings. All units boast interiors by AD100 designer William T. Georgis, cleverly concealed service functions, Foster + Partners-designed custom millinery, open chef’s kitchens, and private master suites with luxurious baths.

Outside the apartment doors, the amenities are equally enviable. In addition to hotel-quality concierge service, a third- and fourth-floor Residents Club includes a curated library and health club with a 60-foot lap pool, cardio room, weight room, Pilates/barre room, yoga room, sauna and steam room, changing rooms, and showers. Moreover, while the restaurants in the landmarked Seagram Building are right next door, residents of One Hundred East Fifty-Third need not leave the building to experience fine dining: Starting this spring, they will have in-room dining options from and preferred access to two new restaurants from Chef Alain Verzeroli, a Michelin-starred chef who has worked under Joel Robuchon.

The new restaurants are not the only factors in Midtown East’s recent renaissance. Just up the street, a Foster + Partners-designed office tower is underway at 425 Park Avenue to revitalize this corridor. It is also important to note that One Hundred East Fifty Third Street was in the works long before Amazon’s announcement, but it is only one subway stop away from the planned Long Island City headquarters.
