While many are excited to buy in New York's newest supertalls and sparkling new buildings, the city's rich history is not to be overlooked. These older buildings have set new standards for their neighborhoods and New York City as a whole, housed luminaries of all stripes, and offer apartments rich in prewar details that are incredibly challenging, if not impossible, to replicate in new construction homes.
