Since October 2018, a $9.45 million penthouse at Circa Central Park has held the record for New York's most expensive condo sale above 96th Street on the West Side and 102nd Street on the East Side. However, a triplex penthouse at 111 Central Park North is poised to smash the record. Seller Mike De Paola bought the apartment for just over $8 million in 2008; since then, he has filled the 3,983-square-foot home with his impressive art collection and turned one of the bedrooms into a gallery with leather floors. However, there was no improving on the direct views of Central Park or the impressive outdoor space, which comes to a total of 1,549 square feet. He listed it in July 2021 for $19.5 million, or more than twice the price of the Circa Central Park penthouse.

The penthouse recently had its price reduced by $2.55 million, but its new price of $16.95 million would also break the record. It was one of 207 New York sales listings that experienced price cuts in the last week of February 2022.
