Starting on May 19, New York City is lifting the capacity restrictions imposed in response to the coronavirus pandemic, allowing businesses like restaurants, stores, salons, and gyms will be allowed to operate at 100 percent capacity (provided they can keep six feet of distance between individuals or groups). New York's low positive case rate (1.2 percent as of Monday, May 17) and increased vaccination rates were instrumental in reaching this milestone.

There is a sense of optimism that perhaps extends to the real estate market as well: According to CityRealty listings, there are 10,408 publicly listed condos, co-ops, condops, and townhouses for sale throughout Manhattan, northern Brooklyn, and parts of Queens and the Bronx. Ahead of the full reopening, a total of 271 sales listings experienced price reductions from May 10 to 17. A full, sortable chart may be found below.
