Construction management company, New Lines Structures has given us a new glimpse of El Ad Group's forthcoming condo and affordable housing project at 505 West 43rd Street. Designed by ODA Architecture, the two building, 189,000-square-foot development will rise between West 43rd and 44th streets, above a currently open and active Amtrak rail line. The buildings will ultimately rise 15 stories (154 feet) and host 123 residential units. As depicted in previously released illustrations, the building-to-be will have a dark masonry facade punctuated by an irregular pattern of windows that are grouped in vertical stacks of two- to three-stories tall.
No progress has been made at the site, and building permits filed in 2014 have yet to be approved. Developer El Ad Group plans to fill the building with both condominium and affordable housing. Amenities will include bike storage, a children’s playroom, a fitness center, and a car parking with 23 spaces. New Line Structures lists a completion date scheduled for November 2018.
