Construction has begun on Premier Equities’ new office building at 134 Wooster Street. The mid-block site previously hosted a parking lot and a one-story Adidas store. It was purchase by Premier for $10.87 million back in 2009, and last March the Landmarks Preservation Commission approved plans to build a seven-story office building, with no opposition.
Designed by Morris Adjmi, the 26,000-square-foot building will adhere to the architectural style of the Soho-Cast Iron Historic District. It will top out at just over 100 feet, and will feature a steel and glass exterior and a series of arches, columns, and bays. Inside, the basement and first level will feature commercial retail space with five stories of offices above, which includes a setback 7th floor office penthouse suite.
