A historic Manhattan brownstone that recently underwent extensive renovations has returned, offering timeless Upper West Side apartments with original detail and modern features. The Romanesque revival 14 West 69th Street was built in 1896 by row house architect Gilbert Schellenger and is between Central Park West (just three buildings from the park) and Columbus Avenue.

Original details including fireplaces, mantels, wood molding, and paneling are preserved in the former mansion, which has four floors and a garden level, and the transformation created a total of 15 residences ranging from 500 to 740 square feet. Former atelier salons are now over-sized studios starting from $3,400/month, junior 1 bedrooms start at $3,895/month and 1 bedrooms at $4,250/month.

Interiors feature loft-like layouts including high ceilings with hardwood floors, and many have working fireplaces. There are marble baths, and renovated kitchens have new cabinetry and stainless steel appliances (including a dishwasher and microwave), with up to 18 linear feet of Caesarstone counters. Apartments have in-unit climate control, large closets and built-in storage, and some are equipped with stackable washers/dryers. The building features a video intercom and on-site laundry; pets are not allowed.

The property is within the Central Park West Historic District, and was redeveloped by Milan Associates with listing information courtesy of Bond New York. Visit CityRealty’s 14 West 69th Street profile for listings and more photos or contact the leasing office for terms and pricing.
