It is too soon to gauge the long-term effects of the coronavirus pandemic on New York real estate, but it led to a leap in rental inventory in the immediate term. In January 2020, CityRealty registered 7,793 available rental listings throughout Manhattan, western Queens, and northern Brooklyn. That figure has nearly tripled to 21,581 near the end of October 2020, yet it shows signs of leveling off as universities resume classes, schools resume some semblance of in-person education, and companies reopen their physical offices. And in another return to everyday life, gyms across the city have reopend with new safety protocols in place.

However, a number of rentals throughout the greater New York City area contain gyms, co-working space, and so many other appealing amenities that residents can get everything they need and want under one roof. To better stand out in a crowded market, landlords are also offering several months of free rent, move-in credits, and other incentives to sweeten the deal for prospective renters. And in light of current health concerns, video and virtual tours are available. See some of the most appealing offers below.
