Designed by Handel Associates with interiors by The Rockwell Group, the building stands out with its reflective south end and seemingly random vertical façade strips. The striking design makes it one of the more attractive towers between the United Nations complex and the Queens-Midtown Tunnel.
The building features a gracefully curved south façade without setbacks, except for an indentation near the top. Its rectilinear exterior is accentuated by vertical strips. The double-height lobby boasts a slatted rear wall and a large spiral staircase leading to the amenity level. A prominent entrance marquee and sidewalk landscaping enhance its curb appeal. House 39 offers a slew of amenities, including a concierge, roof deck with cabanas and BBQ stations, outdoor movie screen, fireplace, bocce ball, shuffleboard, photo booth, live-in superintendent, children’s playroom, curved swimming pool, library, fitness center, driveway, plaza, and courtyard garden.
