A lot can happen in a year, as residents of 250 East Houston Street, formerly known as Red Square, can attest to. The quirky rental building, situated between Avenue A and Avenue B, was famous for its 18-foot statue of Vladimir Lenin and its Tibor Kalman-designed rooftop clock. When the Dermot Company bought the building for $100M last year, they ditched the statue (it was relocated to 178 Norfolk Street) but the iconic clock remains. Extensive renovations - and apparently a facade change - have turned this LES structure into a luxury rental building with new apartment finishes and modern amenities.

250 East Houston features ground-floor retail and studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments throughout its 13 stories. Right now, there are just three available no-fee listings: all one-bedroom, one-bath residences ranging from $3,667/month to $4,137/month. One month of free rent is currently being offered.
