Its Italian Renaissance palazzo design pairs a beige brick façade with a three story limestone base, a landscaped mid-block entrance and a wood paneled lobby. Apartments retain a range of pre-war details, particularly beamed ceilings, herringbone floors and high ceilings, while repeated combinations have produced layouts considerably larger than the building’s original studios and one bedroom residences.
The most extensive combination, Residence 14 ABCDE, occupies nearly the entire 14th floor. Its two wings are lined by almost 100 feet of planting terraces and joined by a glass solarium, giving the building an atypical large scale residence with substantial private outdoor space.
The building has a 24 hour doorman, a live-in resident manager, resident storage, central laundry and a landscaped rooftop terrace. Central air conditioning and in-unit laundry are present in the building, with washer and dryer installations subject to board approval. Pets and pied-à-terre ownership are permitted, and subletting is allowed after one year. The address is between Fifth and Madison Avenues, with Central Park at the western end of the block.
