A Pop-Up Workshop and Studio Space for Photographers

OCTOBER 29, 2010

The Levi’s Photo Workshop shows how big brands can give creative new talent a big break in the form of access to much-needed resources.

The Levi’s Photo Workshop is a temporary public space—call it a pop-up studio that anyone can use—offering professional-quality production studio time, vintage camera rentals, digital design stations, state-of-the-art printing equipment and more. From the source: “…whether you’re a point-and-shooter, a trained professional, or somewhere in between, you are always welcome to visit and develop your craft… or your film!”

The Levi’s workshops are committed to community collaboration and creative production: The Soho workshop’s arrival follows in the tradition of a similar project by the company—a non-profit silk-screen and print studio—in San Francisco’s Mission District. Located at 18 Wooster Street until it closes on December 18, the workshop will offer educational programs, photographic tours of the city, events, discussion panels and opportunities for photographers to show their work to the public. Upcoming events at the space include films, concerts, art exhibits and performances by well-known local artists. Visit the workshop’s site for more information on resources, hours and events.
