Food Parc: Because There Is No Such Thing as Too Much Bacon

OCTOBER 1, 2010

The much-anticipated Food Parc in the Eventi Hotel is now open for overindulgence.

To the delight of anyone craving more food choices in the somewhat gastronomically underwhelming area between Herald Square and the Flatiron District, it’s finally feeding time at the 20,000 square foot food court known as Food Parc. The ambitious project—helmed by Jeffrey Chodorow—has been outfitted by none other than Blade Runner concept man Syd Mead and has had the foodiverse buzzing. While the food court concept has become a familiar sight in mid-Manhattan recently—the new addition joins also-new Italian pizz-a-rama Eataly, Limelight Marketplace and veteran Chelsea Market—Food Parc is far enough away from the Chelsea chow district to add variety (and calories) to your menu.

Food Parc’s four food “stands” offer burgers (3Bs), Italian (Fornetti) and Asian (Red Farm) specialties and cafe and breakfast items (The Press). The aforementioned bacon—in no fewer than four artisanal varieties–pops up in everything from sugar-coated bacon snacks to deep-fried hash browns (via Feisty Foodie), so if you’re a fan, you’ll be coming back for more. Which, undoubtedly, there will be.
