Put another log on the fire—or just change the channel

What could be cozier than curling up by a crackling fire on a cold winter day? It's not something we generally associate with city apartments, but even if you haven't got a cabin in the woods, or any wood at all, there are a few ways to gaze into the embers.

If you really want an old-fashioned working, wood-burning fireplace, you've got to play by the rules.
