New York Whiskey Fest
Spend a day sipping over 200 varieties of rare single malts and blends from around the world at America's largest Whisky celebration. The spirits will be accompanied by a gourmet buffet, and seminars by experts on standards like Glenlivet and Balvenie, more obscure pours like triple-distilled Scottish Auchentoshan, Wisconsin-made white whisky and more. Sign up for an event pouring list and news on speakers and seminar topics. The one-day fest is part of Whiskey Week (November 7-12 in New York City), which should be enough to keep even the most dedicated malt enthusiast glowing for the rest of the year.

If talk of single malts makes you want to take matters into your own hands, Chef Daniel Boulud introduces top-notch cocktails at his elegant new Bar Pleiades (20 East 76th Street between Fifth and Madison Avenues).
