Lincoln Center Sets the Stage for a Celebration of Song

JANUARY 29, 2010

Lincoln Center throws a star-studded seven-week song fest with something for everyone to love.

Each year, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts presents American Songbook, a celebration of the best, most influential and notable voices in popular song to grace the world’s stages.

This year’s event offers an eclectic roster of today’s most talented American artists from across genres and styles. From the sultry jazz of Nellie McKay in “Nellie McKay: Normal as Blueberry Pie—A Tribute to Doris Day” to choral-indie wunderkinder Dirty Projectors to the vivacious, theatrical Chita Rivera, the American Songbook events will warm the hearts of music lovers and shower-crooners of all ages.

The program runs from January 13 to March 6. Venues and ticket prices vary; check listings for more information.
