A Fashion Pro Lends His Talent to a Flatiron Condo; A New Tower Gets Growing on the Upper West Side

The 14-story condominium building at 16 West 21st Street is getting a frosted white-on-white glass facade in addition to design touches by fashion star Zac Posen. Posen—who also has a furniture line coming out next year—is partnering with architect Morris Adjmi on the interior design of the new 9-unit building just south of the Flatiron district. The completed residence will include 9 full-floor units, a garden duplex unit, and a triplex penthouse.

The foundation is being laid for a 953 foot hotel and residence tower at 155 West 57th Street. Extell Development will be building the 73 story tower with about 150 residential condos above a 21st floor dining room, library and lounge and duplex apartments on the uppermost floors. The building recently received a partial permit from the Department of Buildings to continue its rise to a height that will top the area's three tallest skyscrapers.
