Notable Neighbors

AUGUST 18, 2011

If you live at Devonshire House, Alec Baldwin could be your new neighbor; Langston Hughes’s former townhouse languishes; An Entourage star kicks back at home.

It was mentioned recently that Alec Baldwin is washing his hands of his Eldorado aerie on Central Park West–fleeing that whole bougie Upper West Side thing, in fact. A tip to CurbedNY reports that the eldest Baldwin brother may have found a new penthouse in the Village, at Devonshire House on East 10th Street (CurbedNY).

This former rooming house at 20 East 127th Street has the distinction of having been the home of iconic Harlem poet Langston Hughes in his later years. That pedigree hasn’t kept the townhouse from being without a buyer for over a year. The 20-foot-wide house originally hit the market for $1.2 million in 2009 and has been on and off the market ever since, most recently listing for $1 million (Harlem Bespoke).

Entourage and Boston Legal regular Constance Zimmer invites the NY Post into her East Village condo, which she shares with her husband, daughter Coco and lots of cool old books (NY Post).
