Notable NYC Neighbors

MAY 1, 2013

Gisele and Tom crave a Manhattan move; Clifford Williams seeks buyer, Axl Rose seeks seller; Former Times publisher’s classic uptown co-op fetches a classic uptown price; Lena Dunham checks out the Gretsch.

Gisele Bundchen and hubby Tom Brady are on the hunt for a NYC home; the supermodel and the star quarterback recently viewed a high-floor 3-bedroom unit at the sleek and soon-to-be-relaunched condo One Madison Park at 23 East 22nd Street on the edge of Madison Square Park (NYPost).

Axl Rose is apartment hunting in NYC. The Guns’N’Roses frontman–he owns a sprawling Malibu mansion and once had a rental pad in TriBeCa–is in search of a downtown Manhattan Home (NYPost). Perhaps a match made in rock’n’roll heaven: AC/DC bassist Clifford Williams has listed his 2-bedroom West Village condo at 63 Downing Street for $1.899 million. In addition to rockstar cachet, the 1,200-square-foot apartment has two private terraces, high-end appliances in the kitchen and California closets (CurbedNY).

The 11-room pre-war co-op at 1010 Fifth Avenue, former home of Arthur Sulzberger, Sr., onetime publisher of the New York Times, just sold for $12.5 million. The four-bedroom apartment with skyline views, a wood burning fireplace, a library and three maids’ rooms was first listed at $14 million in December (NYObserver).

Girls creator and star Lena Dunham recently viewed a very un-Hannah-Horvath-like three-bedroom penthouse in the South Williamsburg Gretsch building at 60 Broadway. The $4.45 million condo in the converted Brooklyn loft building has a 1,900-square-foot wrap-around terrace, floor-to-ceiling windows and panoramic views in every direction (NYDN).
