Ricky Martin’s old apartment fetches five-figure rent; RENT star sells TriBeCa condo; a fashion favorite buys in DUMBO and a rocker leaves his Village co-op.

Jason Rabin, son of Brooklyn Nets co-owner and apparel design and marketing bigwig Artie Rabin, is renting a five-bedroom, $32,500-a-month apartment–the unit was formerly owned by Ricky Martin–at the Lucida at 151 East 85th Street. (Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson is a neighbor in the building.) Rabin and his wife, Nicole, recently sold their penthouse duplex atop the Volney at 23 East 74th Street for $17.5 million. The Rabins had purchased the apartment, which features a 69-foot-long terrace, from Andy Warhol superstar “Baby Jane” Holzer for $14.1 million in a cash deal in 2009 (NYPost).

Jesse Martin, the actor known for originating the role of Tom Collins in the Broadway hit RENT as well as his role as NYPD Detective Ed Green on Law & Order, has sold his two-bedroom apartment in the Keystone Building at 38 Warren Street for $2.1 million–$200k more than he paid for it in 2006. The TriBeCa condo duplex has 12-foot ceilings, a wood-burning fireplace and access to a roof deck (CurbedNY).

Fashion designer Rebecca Minkoff and her husband, actor/director Gavin Bellour, recently acquired an apartment in the DUMBO Clocktower building at 1 Main Street for $1.85 million–$300k less than the ask. The 2,068-square-foot two-bedroom condo in the waterfront building has 11-foot ceilings and an oversized master suite. Bonus celebrity neighbor: Anne Hathaway and fiance Adam Shulman are renting a one-bedroom in the building (CurbedNY).

Strokes frontman and modeling agency scion Julian Casablancas recently sold his co-op at 29 East 9th Street in Greenwich Village for $1.25 million. The one-bedroom apartment in the venerable pre-war residence boasts beamed 18-foot ceilings, a sunken living room and a wood-burning fireplace. The three-building full-service apartment complex has been home to Sex and the City author Candace Bushnell and actor Chris Noth, among other NYC notables (RealEstalker).
