Hilfiger explores, Oprah sells, Sulzberger buys. . . NYC-condos-The-Plaza

- Top garmento Tommy Hilfiger may be thinking of hanging up his duplex pad at The Plaza for next season’s collection at the under-construction luxury condo One57. The preppy sportswear king was spotted in the building’s sales office (NY Observer). While The Plaza (shown) may be "simply irrestistable" for those who enjoy luxury and legend, according to CityRealty's Carter B. Horsley, it may be tough to beat the view from the 90-story One57.

- Oprah Winfrey recently sold her East Side condo at Place 57 to a London hedge fund partner and his wife for $7.9 million. Ms. Winfrey bought the 36th-floor penthouse with a 768-square-foot terrace for $7.1 million in 2008 (TheRealDeal).The sleek and striking Place 57 is located at 207 East 57th Street.

- New York Times publisher Arthur Sulzberger just scooped up a $3.9 million penthouse at The Dorilton, the architectural gem at 171 West 71st Street. The lofty three-bedroom apartment with a 2,000-square-foot terrace and 25-foot-high skylights was listed for $4.5 million last October (Gawker).
