This Week In NYC Living-Art Week Edition

MARCH 4, 2013

From West Chelsea to Williamsburg to the Armory in far West Midtown, Armory Arts Week is in full effect from March 5-10.

The Armory Show at Piers 92 and 94 (12th Avenue at 55th Street ) in West Midtown is the main event that anchors this annual spring art whirl. Artists and gallerists from scores of international galleries and dozens upon dozens of dealers, buyers and hangers-on will be go-seeing, wheeling, dealing and schmoozing. Smaller but no less stellar: From on-the-radar mini-fairs, each with a different slant on the galleries, artists and themes they represent–like Scope, Volta, Fountain and Brooklyn Art Night, during which galleries stay open late–to dozens of even smaller events, the NYC Art Week calendar is action-packed. And, of course, it’s all about the parties: The MoMA benefit party kicks off the week, but look for dozens of more intimate soirees, shindigs and happenings all week long.

See the Armory Arts Week site for a schedule of events and more information.
