TriBeCa and SoHo: Priciest Condos in New York

New York City’s priciest condos are in TriBeCa and Soho, based on 3rdQ closing prices, as reported by Curbed. Other neighborhoods near the top of the list are Dumbo, the Flatiron District, Chelsea and the Upper West Side. Also listed: The highest-priced sales in each neighborhood, which turned up in top-ticket buildings like River Lofts at 92 Laight Street and 31 West 21st Street  (shown) (CurbedNY).

TriBeCa and Soho also ranked high in a recent Forbes report, “America’s Most Expensive Zipcodes.” In reviewing U.S. home prices for the year, Soho ranked 6th and TriBeCa 7th, with buyers attracted to their “wide-open loft spaces with high ceilings.” These downtown neighborhoods edged out traditional favorites like the Upper East Side, Upper West Side, and Greenwich Village. Starchitects Reveal Designs for Brooklyn Bridge Park Development

The much-buzzed-about design entries in the competition to build a hotel and luxury apartment complex at the new Brooklyn Bridge Park were recently presented. The competition brought out the city’s top developers and A-list starchitects. While some of the designs impressed the community, not all did. (NY Observer).
