What's Going On This Week

JULY 2, 2008

This week: Multi-task this July 4th-surround yourself with music, film and the theater while you watch the sky and the crowd.

Sonic Youth, Feelies at Battery Park
Tickets to this show, part of the River to River Festival, were reserved in minutes, but if you know someone with an extra, it's the rock event of the summer with the band that defined the avant-garde, and the ultra-rare reunion of '70s/80s new wave R.E.M. influencers The Feelies. Plus, the sound is pretty good from just about anywhere nearby, so park a blanket and enjoy the show.
