Art Week is upon us!

From March 5-9, 2009, New York City's annual Armory Art Fair and its satellite of public events will once again be one of the brightest stars on the international map of Important Art Fairs. Here's a brief guide to the top-line exhibitions and a few links to point you in the right direction.

The Armory Show
The Main Event, in two main sections.
The Armory Show –The International Fair of New Art

Pier 94
The world's best known contempory art fair, has been attracting serious collectors and art lovers for a decade. This year's fair will feature works from over 176 international galleries.
The Armory Show – Modern

Pier 92
This show will have an emphasis on "historically significant" modern and contemporary works.
March 5–7, noon–8pm; March 8 noon–7pm

SCOPE New York
SCOPE was launched to introduce artists, curators, and cutting-edge galleries to new audiences internationally.
March 4 – 8, 2009
Pavilion at Lincoln Center Damrosch Park, 62nd Street and 10th/Amsterdam Avenue

Public Events
In addition to the above and a handful of lesser fairs, galleries across the city will open their doors with exhibitions and celebrations for an international convergence of art-world denizens, including a benefit party for the Museum of Modern Art featuring the New York band Gang Gang Dance and Brooklyn Armory Night on March 7th, when a collection of Brooklyn galleries and art spaces will open their doors free until 11pm.
