10 Greene Street stands as a distinguished example of 19th century SoHo architecture, built in 1869 and designed by J.B. Snook for Moon & Bryant. Snook was the architect behind several landmark New York buildings, including America's first department store (the A.T. Stewart store), the Metropolitan Hotel, and the original Grand Central Depot commissioned by Cornelius Vanderbilt. This landmarked, 28 foot wide building underwent a complete conversion to luxury condominiums in 2017 by Javeri Capital, which acquired the property for $14.45 million and invested in comprehensive infrastructure upgrades including new sprinkler, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems throughout.
The boutique building contains just four bespoke residences accessed by private keyed elevators, with no Artist in Residence restrictions. Units feature impressive ceiling heights ranging from 11 to 14 feet, oversized custom wood windows, and high end finishes including five inch white oak flooring, exposed brick walls, and Ecosmart fireplaces wrapped in Pietra Cardosa stone. The custom kitchens showcase Miele appliances, Leicht cabinetry, and Pietra Cardosa countertops, while bathrooms feature natural stone sourced from Spain, including striking Krion Almond soaking tubs and heated Arctic White herringbone floors.
The crown jewel is the triplex penthouse with four bedrooms and 1,700 square feet of outdoor space, featuring a great room with 14 foot ceilings, a media room with wet bar, and two expansive terraces. One 28 foot wide terrace includes a gas fire pit and lush landscaping, while the 27 foot wide terrace boasts a full outdoor kitchen and outdoor shower. Modern conveniences throughout the building include Lutron lighting systems, integrated Sonos sound systems, CitiQuiet windows for museum like quiet, and a 24 hour virtual doorman with security monitoring. The building's prime SoHo location between Canal and Grand Streets offers convenient subway access while maintaining the neighborhood's historic cobblestone charm.
