Stirling Towers is a 1917 pre-war co-op at 875 West 181st Street, on the north side of the block at Riverside Drive above the Hudson River. Many western and southwestern exposures look toward the river, the George Washington Bridge and the New Jersey Palisades. The six story building contains 84 apartments.
Apartments commonly retain ceilings of about nine feet, hardwood floors, oversized windows and French doors. Formal dining rooms and windowed kitchens recur in the building’s larger pre-war plans, while several renovated layouts have been opened or adapted to add a sleeping area or office without eliminating separate living and dining space.
The landscaped rear garden has terraced plantings, mature trees, grills, picnic tables and seating areas. The co-op also has a laundry room, bike storage, a package room, private storage lockers, an intercom and a live-in superintendent, with porter staff also serving the property. Pets are permitted.
Fort Washington Park and the Hudson River Greenway lie along the river, including the Little Red Lighthouse beneath the George Washington Bridge. Fort Tryon Park, the Heather Garden and The Met Cloisters are farther north. The A train stops at the 181st Street station on Fort Washington Avenue, while the 1 train serves its own 181st Street station on St. Nicholas Avenue.

For some co-ops, instead of price per square foot, we use an estimate of the number of rooms for each sold apartment to chart price changes over time. This is because many co-op listings do not include square footage information, and this makes it challenging to calculate accurate square-foot averages.
By displaying the price per estimated room count, we are able to provide a more reliable and consistent metric for comparing sales in the building. While we hope that this gives you a clearer sense of price trends in the building, all data should be independently verified. All data provided are only estimates and should not be used to make any purchase or sale decision.
