A group of four townhouses have been gutted and converted into 23 residential condominiums at 343 East 50th Street by the American Property Group, of which Perry Finkelman is a principal, and Langsam Property Services Corporation, of which Mark Engel is a principal.

The development is known as M at Beekman and marketing has just begun.

Adam Kushner is the architect for the conversion, which involved the addition of two floors to the low-rise buildings.

The development will have 24-hour concierge service, a fitness center and rooftop deck.

Apartments have walnut-stained cherry floors and the kitchens have white-oak cabinetry and grey flannel schist stone countertops. Bathrooms have chromatherapy shower stalls.

The developers' other projects include 123 Baxter Street, a 22-unit residential condominium with an automated garage, and Park South Lofts at 43-43 East 30th Street.

According to Karen Kelley of the Corcoran Group, a 1,475-square-foot unit facing the building's garden with two bedrooms and two baths is priced at about $2 million.

The building has a rusticated one-story base with wall lanterns.

M at Beekman is across the street from another residential condominium apartment conversion known as the Beekman Condo that is being developed by Time Equities. That 15-unit project involves two brownstone buildings at 342 and 344 East 50th Street.

Time Equities is converting the two attractive brownstone buildings at 342 and 344 East 50th Street to 15 condominium apartments.
