The Manhattan Beach section of Brooklyn is largely occupied by single-family homes, but The Terraces, a seven-story building at 65 West End Avenue, has shaken that up a bit. The design by Red Hook-based Simino Architects towers over its neighbors, yet the light brick façade is congruous with its surroundings. There are only two apartments per floor, and sales have recently launched.
The Terraces takes its name from the large private balconies that serve as ideal entertainment space for many of the apartments. All condos feature 10-foot ceilings, prewired security systems, and radiant heat in baths. Building amenities include parking spaces and a common roof deck. One-bedrooms start at $525K, two-bedrooms start at $995K, and three-bedrooms start at $1.375 million.
