The thriving hospitality scene in Tribeca includes boutique hotels The Roxy Hotel, Smyth Hotel, and The Frederick, not to mention outposts of several international chains. However, a new eight-story, 96-room hotel planned for 456 Greenwich Street promises to set new standards for the neighborhood, if not New York. The 96,000-square-foot property will run the length of Desbrosses Street between Greenwich and Washington Streets, a location that will offer guests gorgeous Hudson River views. A partnership between Barone Management, Caspi Development Corp., and Mactaggart Family & Partners broke ground at the end of 2017, and construction is now in progress. Opening is estimated for 2020.

Stephen B. Jacobs Group has released renderings of a full-block hotel that pays tribute to its location in the heart of the Tribeca North Historic District. The brick, stone, and cast-iron elements are similar to those on neighboring buildings, but metal screening and an aluminum paneling add a modern touch. The result is a timeless structure that fits jives with its surroundings.

Stephen B. Jacobs Group is well known for its design of the iconic Hotel Gansevoort, and guests will be pleased to hear that plans call for a rooftop, guests-only pool at this hotel, too. Residents and guests alike will welcome the ground-level restaurant, café, and bar lounge, part of six full-service food and beverage venues within the hotel. The 100-person screening room will be one of Lower Manhattan’s largest. Additional amenities will include an oversized gym, indoor pool, meeting space, full-service spa, and 1,500-square-foot interior courtyard. New York Real Estate Journal also mentioned the possibility of a private member club.
